Steiff Replica 1912 Teddy Bear is made from the finest jet black mohair with a golden hand stitched nose and mouth with matching golden satin bow. The 1912 Replica Black teddy bear is fully jointed and is stuffed with wood wool and has a growler – just as the original teddy bear of 1912 was made. His paw pads are made from beige felt and hand stitched in the same thread as used on his nose.

This beautiful replica teddy bear has a fascinating history. A collector in England bought a case of old dolls and teddy bears at an auction – by remote bid as she liked the description of the lot. When she unpacked the case, she discovered a fascinating black bear with no markings and immediately suspected it could be a Steiff teddy bear! She researched his provenance and to her delight the teddy bear was indeed a Steiff bear from 1912!
