TheLlamais native to South America and most commonly found in the Andes Mountain regions of Peru and Bolivia. They belong to the camel family even though they have no humps, and alpacas are another of their close relatives.

This hardy mammal grazes on grass and plants and is characterised by its long neck, tall legs and thick furry coat. When agitated, a llama may pull its ears back and spit as a way to establish dominance.
